Facebook Users At-a-glance

While focusing only on ‘average’ of anything can lead to missed New Market opportunities on each side of the bell curve, at 800 million strong and growing, Facebook’s average demographics are something worth understanding.  Below is an infographic (with somewhat cheesy artwork) that depicts an average day on Facebook: who visits and what they do.

What strikes me is just how low many of the interactivity metrics (comment, share, message) really are.   Just because your content is great and your Facebook metrics like edgerank are high, doesn’t guarantee you will be seen or even taken action upon.  It’s still about frequency, reach and lots of luck!  But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t sacrifice quality in attempting to be relevant and remarkable with your posts.
